Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: 16 July 2026
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Version: 0.2
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Terms of Service for PassageMaster™, operated by Astramara, LLC. It describes uses that are not permitted. We may update this AUP as the Service evolves.
1. Safety-critical misuse
You must not use PassageMaster™ as a sole or primary means of navigation, as a certified navigation system, for commercial-grade collision avoidance, or for autonomous vessel control. PassageMaster™ is decision-support only (see the Disclaimers). You are responsible for maintaining official charts, certified equipment, a proper lookout, and safe seamanship.
You must not treat Share location as a distress beacon, the man-overboard crew card as search and rescue, Passage Weather or a captain-supplied GRIB as weather routing or as an official forecast, or an empty AIS display as an all-clear.
2. Prohibited activities
You must not:
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right;
- access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Service, our systems, or our providers' systems;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent security or authentication measures;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through denial-of-service activity, excessive requests, or overloading infrastructure;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except as permitted by law;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data or content from the Service, or re-distribute third-party data in violation of its license;
- use the Service to build a competing product or to train machine-learning models on our content or third-party data;
- misuse connections to your vessel network (for example, Signal K) or to any network you are not authorized to access;
- upload or transmit malware, or content that is unlawful, infringing, harmful, or deceptive; or
- misrepresent your identity or impersonate others.
3. Fair use of shared resources
Connected features (such as the Quartermaster assistant and data proxies) rely on shared and rate-limited resources. You must not attempt to evade rate limits, automate requests at abusive volumes, or use the Service in a way that degrades it for others.
4. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or take other action consistent with the Terms of Service and applicable law. We may also report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.
5. Reporting
