PassageMaster™, operated by Astramara, LLC, incorporates data and imagery from third parties. We are grateful to these providers. Their data is used under their respective terms and licenses, and is provided for decision-support only — see the Disclaimers. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party data, and each provider's own terms govern its content.
Attributions are also shown in the app where the corresponding data is displayed.
Map imagery
- Mapbox — satellite basemap tiles, © Mapbox. Use is subject to the Mapbox Terms of Service. Streamed map tiles are used online and are not bulk-cached for offline use, consistent with the provider's terms.
- Mapbox Search — optional Find (Nearby / Planning) place and address lookup via the Mapbox Search Box API. Results include OpenStreetMap data. Used online during the search session only; results are not stored as a search corpus. Local shore information for decision-support — not a chart and not a recommended track.
- Maxar — high-resolution satellite imagery, © Maxar, delivered via Mapbox.
-
MapTiler — optional satellite basemap and optional
Streets (shore/local) basemap (
streets-v2), © MapTiler / © OpenStreetMap contributors. Streamed and end-user device–cached tiles only; PassageMaster™ does not proxy MapTiler through server-side downloads. Satellite is context imagery only; Streets are shore/local context only — neither is a certified chart. - EOX Sentinel-2 cloudless — not a current live satellite choice and not a current corridor fallback. A corridor package already stored on a device may still open. If that older package is shown, the attribution for the 2016/2017 mosaic is: “EOxCloudless - https://cloudless.eox.at by EOX IT Services GmbH (Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data 2016 & 2017).” Context imagery only — not a certified chart. Do not redistribute that imagery as a standalone dataset.
- MapLibre GL — open-source map rendering; see the Open-Source Notices.
Charts and surveys
- NOAA Office of Coast Survey — U.S. chart data / chart display (NOAA NCDS), © NOAA. Decision-support context for U.S. waters only; not certified navigation.
- Vector Charts (Zydro Marine Technologies) — not a current chart choice. The in-app control is off while that subscription is paused. A pack already stored on a device may remain in the offline library. It is not a certified ENC and not a Bahamas or Caribbean chart substitute.
- No hosted commercial chart service is part of the current release. Nothing in this notice is a certified-ENC claim.
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) — eHydro — hydrographic survey data used for derived-depth overlays where enabled. Derived depth is the shoalest surveyed sounding in a cell, on MLLW when that datum is present. It is decision-support only and is not a guaranteed depth.
Weather, tides, and currents
- Open-Meteo — global weather forecast data used for harbor weather and as a Scan/comfort fallback when no Passage Weather pack covers the request. It is not the source of a Passage Weather pack and it is not blended with a pack or with a captain-supplied GRIB.
- NOAA National Weather Service (weather.gov) — U.S. marine weather.
- NOAA CO-OPS (Tides & Currents) — U.S. tide and current predictions and observations.
- Passage Weather packs — membership-gated corridor packs for decision-support along a downloaded line. They are adapted (subset and normalize). They are not weather routing and not a global GRIB.
- NOAA GFS / GFS-Wave, accessed from the AWS Open
Data bucket noaa-gfs-bdp-pds. Public use. PassageMaster™
weather packs are not an official National Weather Service or NOAA
forecast. PassageMaster™ is not endorsed by or affiliated with NOAA.
The pack is an adapted subset, not unaltered NOAA data.
- ECMWF IFS Open Data 0.25° and ECMWF Wave Open Data,
accessed from the AWS Open Data replica ecmwf-forecasts,
not from paid ECMWF real-time dissemination. CC BY 4.0. Credit ECMWF.
Changes were made: the pack is a subset, normalized for display. It is
not an official ECMWF forecast.
-
Captain-supplied GRIB — your own file, including a
file you request by composing a message to
[email protected]in your own email program. PassageMaster™ does not send that mail, does not poll a mailbox, does not contact that host over HTTP, and does not store the file on our servers. A SailDocs file is not a PassageMaster™ model and a Passage Weather pack does not silently replace it.
Cruising and waterway information
- Waterway Guide — not in the current release. NoForeignLand is not in the current release. The Service does not rent location pins.
- Region packs and cruiser references — curated or licensed reference material included with region packs. Some source material (for example, certain commercial cruising-guide chart data such as Explorer Charts) is copyrighted and is not reproduced or derived without permission; region packs are framed as unverified where provenance or confidence is limited.
Vessel data
- Signal K — open marine data standard used to consume vessel telemetry from your onboard network. A man-overboard notice on the boat network is one Signal K notification. It is not an autopilot command and not a distress transmission. Share location geometry is separate and is described in the Privacy Policy.
- aisstream.io — internet AIS vessel reports. While Harbor, Nearby, Planning, or Underway is open and the server key is configured, our server requests nearby vessels from aisstream.io using the position and search radius described in the Privacy Policy. Traffic context only. Not boat Signal K. Not CPA or TCPA. Not a claim that a traffic picture is shown. An empty display is not an all-clear. This notice does not assert that the key is set in production.
